NH Special Education Law Manual

The New Hampshire Special Education Law Manual by Attorney Scott F. Johnson is a guide for parents, educators, attorneys, advocates, and other professionals that work with students with disabilities.

The Manual was revised again in October 2006 to include changes made to the federal special education law (called the IDEA) and the federal regulations. These changes went into effect on October 13, 2006. This is the 3rd Edition of the book.

The 3rd Edition of the manual provides an expanded section that explains the special education process in New Hampshire with twice the amount of analysis as the prior versions. The manual explains the requirements of state law and the new federal special education laws and regulations to help parents, educators and professionals better understand legal requirements and the special education process.

The manual provides all of the New Hampshire and federal special education laws in one book including the revised IDEA 2004 and the new federal regulations. It also includes related laws such as Section 504, FERPA, and state discipline laws. The Manual contains explanations of the special education process and related topics such as discipline.
